SASSA Takes Expert Services to Fernie Community
Tuesday, August 27, 2024
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently going to the Fernie 2 Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions towards the community.
SASSA is going to be rendering services which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, and also the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency mentioned it is alarmed concerning the large variety of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The aim from the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a large quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is certainly mainly because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no thoroughly functional office committed to service the area each day. The support stage created for intervention experiences a substantial influx of potential beneficiaries, that makes it tough with the Workplace to attend to all people who go to a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise a lot more sources to allow the servicing of all shoppers and improve use of Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
